🎯 Aim
To investigate DNA structure and replication and how a gene codes for a protein.
You will learn to
- Apply base pairing rules (Chargaff).
- Describe transcription and translation.
- Explain the effects of different mutations.
- Interpret evidence for semi-conservative replication.
🧭 What to do
- Read the coding strand, template, mRNA and amino acids.
- Choose a Mutation and move its position: compare the protein.
- Change the Generations in ¹⁴N.
- Change the Adenine percentage and read the other bases.
- Answer the questions with the class data.
- Write your conclusion and download your lab report.
📋 The data
Codons of the gene in the lab.
